Hi folks! I'm Bex - bookworm, photographer, cupcake-baker, debate nerd, and lover of all things Avengers. Most importantly, I have been saved by the blood of Jesus Christ - HE is the reason I live!!
So if you didn't hear the news, I was recently hired at a local bakery-cafe...it's my first job, and at the moment it's kind of a love/hate relationship :D I work the bakery in the mornings (yep - 5:00 comes early!), and already have a 'family' :) But as many of you know, working with people definitely has its challenges - especially in the food industry!! Some things just make your shake your head in wonder and disbelief....so I decided I needed to start writing them down :) It's so easy to get frustrated and irritated at various situations that arise throughout the day, but God is faithful! He's been teaching me a lot more than how to put a bagel pack together ;)
All that said, this blog will really just be a place to share the things I encounter along this journey...the good, the bad, and the ugly :D I know that someday I'll want to look back and remember all the 'regulars' who know me by name...Bob, who gets a plain bagel and iced tea every.single.day....Maggie, who stops by to give us an update on her tennis team and get an everything bagel (just sliced - not toasted) and a large iced tea (she brought me an Easter basket today!)...Sara, who always gets an iced tea and sometimes a Post-Gazette (although she brought her Guideposts in today, so she didn't need a newspaper)...and so many more :) They make me smile, they make me laugh, and yes...some make me cry :D But through it all, God has been showing me the blessing of taking time to know each person as an individual, made in His precious Image, and plating every order as if I was serving Him.
So this blog might make you laugh, it might make you think, but most of all I hope it makes you rejoice in the beauty that God places all around us. Sometimes it might be hidden amongst the cinnamon rolls, but it's there!! You just have to look for it :)
